Kelli and Garren were married on a beautiful fall day in Seattle onboard the MV Skansonia. Keli and Garren are a very fun and funny couple. Their family and friends came together to celebrate on a stationary ferry boat on the north end of Lake Union with views of downtown Seattle across the lake.

They laughed with me, at me, and with each other. It was also the first time I’ve ever taken an engagement portrait featuring a spider. Beautiful place and a great couple.

I love the intense look that Lucas has in some of these images, which for some reason reminds me of a young Mick Jagger. Very cool images with the Seattle skyline and waterfront in the portraits.

Read MoreDanielle and Michael had a beautiful wedding day. They were married at Mary Queen of Peace Church in Sammamish. They weathered a torrential rainstorm as they were moving from the church to their reception at Willows Lodge. The rain held off most of the rest of the day to allow us to get some portraits around the gardens and again in the evening with the lights of the Herb Farm restaurant. They are very fun and nice people that I really enjoyed photographing!

In fact, I’m not sure I ever have! We walked (hiked) all over the park to find cool spots for portraits. We did a few with the whole family, and the two of them, but the vast majority were images of each of them individually. We made some very cool portraits!

I really love Myrtle Edwards as it provides some very cool views of the waterfront with rocks, driftwood, and park settings all just a few minutes walk from very urban looking architectural details and city views. Very fun!
Read MoreI met Sarah downtown for some personal branding photography. Personal branding is new photographer speak for business portraits with a wider range of uses than just a headshot. In the past, I called them environmental portraits, and they are one of my favorite things to shoot. For Sarah, she speaks at conferences and things like that, as well as writing things for people in her industry. We worked on creating portraits of her that mostly made her look fun to go to her speaking engagements.

We created portraits around the park, and then headed up to the International District at Hing Hay Park. It was fun to be photographing someplace so close, but new to me. Hing Hay Park was a fun area to shoot. We also found some alleys to play in and created a cool sunset portrait at the end.
