Maddie and Aidan were married at the beautiful Edgewater Hotel on the Seattle Waterfront. Their wedding was bigger than an elopement, but not a full-size wedding. I think so many people appreciate a small wedding. Lovely people and a beautiful place!

Read MoreMS & A were married at an AirBNB on Queen Anne Hill in Seattle. It was a fairly small event, but much larger than what I see at the courthouse. It is always fun to photograph elopements at new places. They were married in front of their family and closests friends on a deck overlooking the Puget Sound right around the time of the winter sunset. Very cool.

Read MoreI met Beka and Joe at the Smith Tower in Seattle before their wedding. I love Smith Tower and have used in the background of so many of my wedding and elopement images. For this event, the wedding was inside the tower, which I hadn’t been inside for year. I am very glad that camera gear has improved so much in the time between and now has enough dynamic range to allow there to be detail in both the couple and the much brighter background.

We walked around City Hall and the Seattle Public Library before we went back to the courthouse for the wedding ceremony. The ceremony was indoors in the Judicial Library. Then, we went upstairs for a few portraits on the very cold rooftop deck.

They also take their heritages seriously and were married in the traditional marriage outfits of their native Ukraine and India. That made for some very fun and colorful images. We walked from the Seattle Municipal Court into downtown Seattle and back for portraits before returning to the courthouse for their wedding ceremony.

Read MoreI met Meghana and Pranav at the Seattle Municipal Court for their wedding. At the beginning, you can see how incredibly hard it was raining. So we went and played at the Seattle Central Library. When we came back out, it was much better weather and we even managed to do an outdoor ceremony on the rooftop deck.

They were troopers and were prepared to brave the elements for some photographs, which I really appreciated. They were married in the jury room and we created some portraits on the rooftop deck, inside the courthouse and at a nearby courtyard that I have used a few times. Very cool people!

Read MoreSteph and Shamele met on a dating app. She was on the Olympic Peninsula and he was in Seattle. Because they were not very far in a straight line, the app told them they were close to each other not taking into account there was a greater than two-hour drive between them. They made the effort to meet anyway, and it seems to have worked out!
We started at the Washington Park Arboretum for portraits with their pup. Then we went to the Seattle Municipal Court for a wedding with Judge Chess on the rooftop deck with their immediate families.
Dayton went to his aunt’s house to do some work for her. His aunt happened to have Cathy visiting. Time passes, then they hire me to photograph their wedding at the Kent courthouse. :)
