I met Lauren and Jonathan at the Seattle Municipal Court before walking around the downtown Seattle area. We found a new, cool rooftop parking garage for a few images as well as some of my favortie places like the main branch of the Seattle Public Library and the Freeway Park area. Then we went over to City Hall for the wedding!
Read MoreI live in Bothell, and so I know my local parks pretty well. I took advantage of that when I met Allison and Joe at Bothell Landing. We started there, and then walked down the Sammamish River Trail and Burke Gilman Trail to Blyth Park and Wayne Park. They are a very fun couple to hang out with!

Now, a decade later, I got to photograph her and Josh for the engagement portraits at Seward Park in Seattle. We did the shoot late in the evening with the idea of getting some awesome sunlight streaming through the forest. I think we nailed it!
Read MoreI photographed Marcus and Jen’s wedding at the Bellevue Club a few years ago. They are an exceptionally fun couple. They now have the most adorable baby girl, so I went out to their home and made some family portraits and baby portraits. While I was there, I did some lifestyle and marketing portraits for Marcus’ mortgage business. Very cool!

Read MoreMarta and Steve met on a climbing trip. They then went on many more adventures featuring Steve’s van. So, naturally, we featured the van during their wedding day as well. After taking some portraits around Seattle and the waterfront, we ended up back at Occidental Square for a pop-up wedding with friends!
Read MoreLeo and Shawn had a small wedding at the very cool Manresa Castle in Port Townsend. It is a beautiful place that is also supposed to be haunted. They were married by a rabbi that has just finished a book on Jewish mysticism and magic. Just before the wedding there was a beautiful corona around the sun. Happy wedding day to Leo & Shawn!

Read MoreAnti-Racist Communities: Bothell held a rally with speakers to stand up to hate and support Asian and Pacific Islanders at Bothell Landing. I was only able to attend for the first hour, but I was happy to go and create some images for them. There were also two people running for Bothell City Council there. Han Tran, who was one of the organizers and speakers, and Jenne Alderks who was there in support.

Read MoreYay for weddings! It has been a long time since I last had the opportunity to photograph a wedding. Michele and Mark were married at Willows Lodge with their immediate family in attendance. It was a gray and slightly sprinkly late winter day. They laughed a lot and the love amongst their family was obvious. Willows Lodge arranged for them to get married in the small library upstairs. After the ceremony, I did some portrait sessions for family members that wanted some couple portraits. Thanks for having me there!

Read MoreI went down to the headquarters of Abbott Construction in Seattle to create new executive portraits of their CEO, Troy. They have a great office to work with. Over the course of the hour I was with Troy, we did several different settings including some studio headshots to give him a variety of images to work with. We varied from fully buttoned up to business casual so that he would be able to use the images for different purposes. I was quite please with this set of images.
Read MoreJosh Binda is an amazing young man and I find him inspiring. It is easy to go to protests, but it is hard to organize and lead them. It is easy to say you want to change things, but it is hard to come up with a plan to make change and to do the work to make it happen. When the opportunity presented itself with the Black Lives Matter movement, instead of shrinking to the back, Josh stepped forward and led marches all over Snohomish and parts of King Counties.

I first set up a studio space and then we walked around the neighborhood! We even did a few with her in her Ethiopian dress. Cool stuff!
