Elopement Photography in Seattle

Seattle and the Pacific Northwest is a beautiful area to get married whether you are having 300 people or two at your wedding. There are amazing places within the city limits such as Golden Gardens or Discovery Park as well as truly stunning locations within a relatively short drive such as on a Washington State Ferry or at Gold Creek Pond. The Seattle Municipal Court has a rooftop deck that you can get married on with stunning views of the city and the waterfront. You can see all kinds of locations for weddings and elopements in my collection of location galleries.

What do you need to get married in Washington?

In the State of Washington, you need the two people getting married, a marriage license, two witnesses, and an officiant. You can now apply to get your wedding license online at the King County Marriage Kiosk website. For an officiant, you can contact a judge, hire an officiant, or have a friend get ordained. The Municipal Court of Seattle has a process where you get married at the courthouse, but some other judges are willing to go on location for weddings. There are a lot of great officiants in the Seattle area who can help you make your ceremony memorable. It is also easy for a friend to get ordained through the Universal Life Church or the Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster.

Where can you get married?

You can get married in most parks and public spaces in Seattle while State and Federal parks will have their own rules. In the City of Seattle, you can get married at any park without a reservation if you don’t set up any equipment, have a small group, and don’t ask anyone to move. There are also some beautiful small spaces that you can reserve such as the gazebo at Washington Park Arboretum or the Grotto at St. Edwards Park in Kenmore.

Why choose me, Cory Parris, as your Seattle elopement photographer?

I prefer not to brag about myself, so here are some customer quotes that say it for me.

WOW! Cory and his photos are amazing. I am in awe of the candid beauty he captured of us and our guests. I would recommend him to anyone in search of a photographer for any event. He was so kind and wonderful to spend time with and as you can see, takes amazing photos. ~ Lauren Bickhaus

Choosing Cory Parris for our wedding day photo shoot was one of the best choices we made! Cory is personable, friendly, knowledgeable, responsive and on top of his game. For Seattle courthouse wedding photos, I don't think there's anyone better. He knows the building in and out - and also knows all the staff and judges! They were joking with him as we made our way through the building. He knew exactly where and when to take our pics - and even could show us some of the cool hidden artwork in the courthouse. He was very easy to reach by phone or email before the day. And on the day, even though we showed up early, he was there waiting for us. He also did a downtown photoshoot with us afterwards - and knew of so many hidden locations that I'd never seen or noticed despite having been here for years. He was also fun to be around for the day - it was like having a Seattle courthouse / downtown tour! The photos turned out beautifully - artistically composed and subtly processed to bring out the best in every setting. We couldn't be happier with Cory Parris, and recommend him without reservation!

Cory was the photographer at my brother’s wedding. He was an absolute delight! He brought great energy and positivity, truly a warm presence. His pictures are absolutely beautiful and heartfelt. Looking through them brings back all the great memories of that precious day. Little slices of time captured in an artful way we will treasure for years to come. ~ Megan Abbott
