Telling Stories
The magic of photography is about the story the image tells and the feelings it creates in the viewer. When you see a wedding photograph that makes you feel warm inside because of the absolute joy on the couple’s face, that is a successful image. When you see a pensive portrait of a young adult looking into the future, and you wonder what he is thinking, that image is working magic. When you see an image of an old door in Italy and you can see the generations of changes that have occurred and you wonder about the families that have lived inside, that is an image that is sharing a story.
I’m always looking forward to the next project and the story I get to tell!

I had the wonderful opportunity to photograph the Housing Development Consortium's (HDC) Annual Celebration Luncheon, which took place at the impressive Summit building in the Seattle Convention Center, who is also a client. This event brought together a diverse group of professionals and advocates who are united by a common goal: increasing access to affordable housing in Seattle and the surrounding region.
I love working with marketing teams to come up with new art for small businesses. For this one, a construction company needed new photographs of their people, some teamwork or work culture type photographs, and some on-site photographs to illustrate a piece of what they do.
A large part of my work is taking marketing portraits and headshots for all kinds of people in Seattle. In fact, I found out that I had photographed this guy’s wife a couple months before at a different company. Very cool
I met Alyssa & Matlock at the Seattle Municipal Court before their elopement. It was a little rainy so we hit some spots indoors and dodged the raindrops. Very cool couple and the Seattle courthouse is always beautiful.
I met Hailey, her mom, and sister at Wayne Park in Bothell. It is the old Wayne Golf Course that is now a park. We walked the park, worked around the mud, and made some very cool senior portraits of Hailey both with and without her musical instruments.
One of the great things about my job is the variety of things I get to photograph. For this job, I photographed the brand new Residence Inn at Northgate in Seattle for the builder. Architectural Photography is something I quite often do for my construction clients. For years I have done landscape and architectural photography as part of what I do for both social events and businesses as the place things take place helps to tell the story of what happened and what they do. For construction clients, the architectural tells the final piece of their story with the final result.
